Political Angry Pen

Political Angry Pen

One method to create political art is to produce something in an angry way, with expressive lines and shapes. The way this can be done is to use very fluid materials such as inks and brushes, in a very dramatic and fast way. This gives the impression of anger and aggressiveness to really put your point across. The dramatic flair is very eye-catching and is a stark contrast to drawing a portrait in a very controlled and precise manner. After this base has been created in a dramatic way, then you can go over it with pens and other mediums to refine it slightly and get a specific message across with the art. Steadman and Scarfe are two artists who are famous for working in this manner, and heavily influenced my examples of this style of work.

These are examples of Steadman's work.

Here is my response to the technique. I have experimented like this before, but to make it more similar to Steadman and Scarfe's techniques, I tried to make sure I was creating all of my marks very quickly.
